I experiment with many types of techniques in my paintings. I love watercolor and i feel comfortable with it, but sometimes i'd like to add an element of neatness that watercolor techniques cannot yield.

Recently, I've begun to use a new technique. I draw precise sketches using pencil on paper, and then add loosely rendered watercolor sections later. I feel like i found my favorite tools and i'm very happy with them.

I also love color pencil.

This is one of my new painting that i like very much. Now it's starting of winter time. The leaves are falling down and the weather is getting colder and colder. It's not too bad actually. It's kinda nice to walk around in sunny day. I walk my dog everyday around 2pm. Sometimes i walked around my block and sometimes i walked to the park near my house.

This painting is the high building near the park that i walked pass by often on 23rd Street. The red berries tree stood so nicely against the rustic wall of this building. My husband took the pictures for me and i mixed them together with my composition and my selected color.

Fire Hydrant

In the streets of New York City, I'm fascinated by the wide variety of Fire Hydrants I see every day. There are so many styles, shapes, colors, old, new, all with the same function. Some of them seem to be hiding, blending into the street scape with a naturally occurring camouflage patina that only time can bring.

They become part of the city, so ubiquitous that we sometimes forget to remember they are there. They have witnessed so much, a stationary little observer, and they seem to play nice with the squirrels.

Today i woke up with a good mood. I drank tea and listened to Thai classical music. I thought about Thailand and smell of jasmine flower. Today is one of my beautiful day.

I bought new papers today. Now, I'm preparing for a new painting. I kinda like using 2h pencil to draw the lines. I hope it come out good after paint it with watercolor.

This is my early work. I painted it in 2010. What i love about this painting is that it marks a direction where i began to explore an abstract feelings and themes. I'm thinking about refocusing my painting to be more abstract.

Right now i'm very busy with a design project in Bangkok, Thailand. I really miss painting. I want to have some peaceful time to paint. But much of my time recently is stressful and concentrating on completing this project successfully and by deadline.

I hope i can make a few paintings while i'm still here in Thailand. I go back to New York at the end of August.
